DISCLAIMERS / T&C’s
Allergens and storage:
All my products are produced in an environment where nuts, peanuts, gluten (wheat), milk, eggs, sulphites, soya and sesame are handled and I am unable to guarantee an allergen free environment without cross contamination, and airborne allergies cannot be catered for. Those with allergies consume at their own risk. I provide allergen information with every purchase, and a mandatory declaration on your order form to let me know about any allergies or intolerances you may have. The client is responsible for declaring in this accurately in writing on the order form and reading allergen information upon delivery/collection. Where an allergy is made known upon ordering, every effort to separate ingredients during preparation and production will be made to reduce risk of cross contamination, however this does not eliminate all risk. You can ask for a full ingredients list, as I do not provide this unless required. Where cakes are handled and portioned by venues, please note at this point any cross contamination risk is beyond control and you may wish to discuss this with your venue. Please do get in touch to discuss allergies or intolerances in more detail.
Once your cake is in your hands or set up at your venue, Made by Adele cannot be responsible for any damage to your cake(s). My products are created to be travel friendly and I provide detailed instructions and advice upon ordering on how to best travel with your cake to avoid any damage.
I provide storage and travel information with every purchase to ensure you can store your cake safely. You are responsible for storing your cake and travelling with it as instructed.
Any items not intended for consumption (decorative items) are declared on the information provided with your cake. Decorative flowers selected by me are non toxic, however should you wish me to use your own florist to provide flowers for your wedding cake or choose flowers that I would not recommend, Made by Adele can not take responsibility for any toxic flowers/foliage or use of non food safe sprays used during growing or any other contamination that may occur. Tapes and pics are used to minimise contact between the flowers and the cake as much as possible. It is the client/venues responsibility to ensure that any non-edible items are removed prior to consumption.
Wedding cakes require signature from the venue to accept responsibility for any damage following delivery/set up by Made by Adele. Wedding cake storage decisions are made according to weather conditions on the day and may change at late notice to protect the quality of your cake. It is the venue and clients responsibility to ensure products are stored as per the recommended storage instructions provided upon delivery.
Payment terms, returns & cancellations:
Payment is required upfront in full to secure your booking, with the exception of wedding cakes. Bookings are not confirmed until they are paid for in full. Made by Adele reserves the right to cancel your booking should your payment not be completed within the timeframe provided in your confirmation email. Any orders without full payment less than 48 hours before the required date will not be fulfilled.
Celebration cakes, bespoke orders & other ad hoc orders under the value of £200: Cancellations with 14 days or less are charged at 50% of the total fee, and 7 days or less are charged at 75% of the total fee, to protect me as a small business. Cancellations with more than 14 days notice will be refunded in full less any items pre-purchased that can not otherwise be used for an alternative client. Cancellations of orders can be rescheduled to a future date in some circumstances as confirmed by Made by Adele and payment can be held against a future booking or purchase to be used within 3 months of the original booking date subject to availability.
Postal cakes & other postal products: postal goods are non refundable. Once dispatched, the goods are out of my control and as such in the event of your item not being delivered I am not able to issue a refund. Tracking links are provided for the client to enable their own parcel diversions if necessary. Made by Adele is not responsible for delivery times or delivery issues. Perishable goods are purchased at your own risk. Postal goods are not dispatched between May-September due to the likelihood of warm weather. Outside of these months, Made by Adele is not responsible for weather conditions that may negatively impact your product eg. hot weather affecting quality, wet weather affecting packaging however I endeavour to schedule dispatches in favourable weather conditions.
Wedding cakes, private catering & events over the value of £200: require a 50% non refundable deposit to secure your booking (approximate where necessary), with the balance due 4 weeks prior to your event. This balance may be adjusted depending on any changes made to specification originally provided. Weddings between May and September are subject to a minimum £500 spend with Friday, Saturday & bank holiday bookings at £600. Should your event be cancelled at any point, your deposit will not be refunded. Should your event be cancelled after final payments have been settled (4 weeks prior to event date unless otherwise stated) your payment will not be refunded. Should your event be rescheduled, I will always endeavour to be flexible within reason and can carry over your booking to your rescheduled date. Adjustments to pricing may be necessary to accommodate this. Should I not be able to accommodate your new date, your deposit and any other payments are forfeited. Quotes provided are valid for the specified time frame as communicated in your quote. I reserve the right to amend the quote as and when required. For final payments I reserve the right to amend the final balance to cover additional inflationary costs that were not able to be forecasted at the time of original quote (eg. to cover ingredient price increases) as communicated upon booking. Made by Adele reserves the right to amend designs as required for structural, proportion, weather conditions, style or other reasons without prior consultation with the client in order to provide the best product possible on the day.
Made by Adele operates as a sole trader and reserves the right to cancel bookings with any notice period in extreme circumstances (eg. illness/injury) with a full refund.
In the unfortunate event that there is a reason you wish to return your cake, for health and safety reasons I do not accept returns. Should you have a problem that you wish to discuss about your cake, please contact me to find the best way to resolve it. In some circumstances a partial refund may be issued and in this event, clients agree to not publicly publish a negative review.
Equipment hire:
Hired equipment, such as cake stands are subject to a hire fee require a refundable security deposit upon safe and undamaged return to the business in Hampton. In the event that equipment is returned in a damaged state, or not returned at all, the security deposit will be withheld in order to cover these costs. If equipment is returned via post/courier, it is the clients responsibility to wrap and protect equipment with packaging materials to sufficiently protect the equipment. Return via post/courier is at the clients own risk. Equipment should be returned within 1 week of the event, unless agreed otherwise prior to hire. Should equipment not be returned with the specified time frame and Made by Adele is subsequently not able to re-hire out the same item at other events due to late return, an additional fee (£40) will be incurred and deducted from the return deposit to cover loss of hire and administration time. Should equipment not be returned within the specified time frame and Made by Adele has to retrieve these items, costs incurred for collection (eg. travel cost/time) will be deducted from the security deposit as necessary.
